The other day I got into a conversation with a young waitress at a restaurant I frequent here in Flagler Beach. She doesn't want to wait tables forever. With a career change in mind, she wanted to know what it is like to be a real estate salesman. I told her I didn't know. I don't consider myself a salesman. I think of myself as a real estate consultant. So what is the difference? As a real estate consultant, my job is not to sell real estate. Sure my activity it usually results in real estate transactions but my real job is to help consumers define their real estate objectives and then achieve them. Most real estate agents I come in contact with think their role is to be a provider of real estate information and a gate keeper of listings. Meanwhile many consumers think with all the information and technology available to them through the internet and other sources that a real estate agent is no longer vital and if agents don't change the way they see themselves the consumer is right. There is no doubt that information is ridiculously easy to get. But I believe consumers still need and want a consultant to be an interpreter of this massive amount of information and some one to apply the correct information and the right technology to achieve their objectives. As a consultant my real estate practice is built on the principles of customization and personal service. I believe the time has come for real estate professionals to move away from the model of the mammoth real estate companies. I believe in local expertise over corporate franchising, and I focus my attention on intimately knowing my community rather than spending my energy on having the world know who I am - I feel it is more important that I know who you are. I focus on what real estate consumers want, not what the industry has previously chosen to deliver. Because I focus on helping consumers solve problems and achieve dreams, my clients are happy. If you are not sure how to position yourself in today's real estate market to best attain your goals, call me today (386) 986-7091 for your personal real estate consultation. We Stopped here for the night and never left!My wife and I enjoyed a midlife sabbatical during which we lived aboard our boat. Our travels took us all over the eastern seaboard from the Florida Keys to the Canadian Maritimes. We spent years exploring the Great Lakes as well as the interior canal systems of both the United States and Canada before stopping at the Palm Coast Marina in 2002. Instantly we fell in love with Flagler county and never left.Whether it is the charm of Historic St. Augustine, the numerous world class golf courses in Palm Coast, the miles of beautiful uncrowded beaches, the excitement of Daytona or the attractions of nearby Orlando, why would anybody leave? Thats why Flagler County was the fastest growing county in the United States two years in a row.For twenty years I was an active successful real estate investor buying, selling and managing real estate for my own privately held company in the state of Maine. I have significant experience with both residential and commercial property as well as 1031 tax free exchanges. My wife Rose enjoyed a midlife sabbatical during which we lived aboard our boat.
